Some Washington DC zipcodes still getting top dollar for homes

While leaves are falling off trees and cooler weather is setting in, some neighborhoods in Washington DC are still hot and homes are selling for more than list price. According to RealEstate Business Intelligence (RBI) that tracks home sales across the region, the Washington DC real estate market is still very strong. Six zip codes stick out where homes have been selling at or above their list price for 2013.

RBI’s stats show other trends including:

  • All six zip codes showed year-over-year price increases, but in 20010 and 20002, prices rose dramatically — 17.6% and 17.1%, respectively.
  • In the zip codes that include Capitol Hill, Brookland and Dupont Circle, the number of homes sold in 2013 increased at least 20% as compared to 2012. In 20017, the increase was nearly 30%.
  • Most homes sold in less than ten days
