Home sellers in the Washington DC metro area continue to reap the benefits of low home inventory. Once again home sales are strong and show solid results. According to RealEstate Business Intelligence, LLC (RBI):
- The dollar volume of home sales increased nearly 30% from the same time last year, with sales of $504,657,652.
- The average sold price was more than $638,000. Last month the average sold price was nearly $609,000.
- The median sold price increased more than 16% to $529,000.
- The number of homes sold in June 2013 was 790, up more than 12% from the same time last year.
Homes continue to sell quickly. Nealy three quarters of all homes sold in June did so in under 20 days, with most selling in 10 days or less. Active listings in June were down more than 24%. New listings were up 17%. (It seems sellers are taking notice of the hot DC market.)
